Pre and Postnatal Pilates Group Classes at EHS Pilates in the Mission District

The beauty of in-person Pilates classes is that they are affordable yet small enough for individualized attention. Preggo Pilates classes max out at 12 people. All in-person group classes are held at one of SF’s longest-running studios, EHS Pilates. Group class packages/drop-ins are purchased through EHS Pilates.

  • Prenatal Pilates Mixed Equipment

    Connect with other pregnant Mamas/birthing folks and enjoy a safe yet challenging prenatal Pilates reformer class. This class focuses on safe stabilizing core work, pelvic floor awareness, upper body strength training, pelvic stabilization, safe squatting, spinal mobility, breathing for labor & delivery, and stretches to ease neck and upper back tension, tight hips, and aching feet.

    All levels are welcome. No previous Pilates experience is necessary. EHS Pilates requires socks in the studio. Gripper socks are best but regular socks are fine.

  • Baby + Me / Early Postnatal Pilates

    Labor & delivery and the first few months of parenthood challenge our bodies in a myriad of ways. Preggo Pilates early postnatal helps re-integrate and reconnect you to your core and pelvic floor, and relieves your achey, tired and tight body with a gentle whole body Pilates workout.

    This postnatal class will improve your posture, ease tightness and tension from lack of sleep, breast/bottle feeding and baby carrying. Learn simple tricks to ease the physical and postural challenges that come with having a newborn, while also toning all those areas that have turned into jello along the way to parenthood. Plus you can connect with other new parents to build your village of support and friendship.

    All levels and all birthing folks are welcome. No previous Pilates experience is required. We suggest you start this class 6 weeks post-vaginal delivery or 8 weeks post-Caesarean. Socks are required. All strollers must be broken down and left in the lobby.

  • Intermediate Postnatal Pilates Mixed Equipment

    Parenthood challenges our bodies in a myriad of ways. Preggo Pilates postnatal helps re-integrate and reconnect you to your core and pelvic floor, relieving your achy, tired and tight body with a whole-body Pilates workout.

    This is a mat/small props class focused on safe, deep core work, exploring a variety of Pilates sequences, upper & lower body workouts, toning and stretching for spinal extension, hips, booty and thighs.

    All levels welcome. Some previous Pilates experience is recommended but not necessary.

    Mixed Level CoreAlign

    Designed to improve posture, balance, and functional movement. The CoreAlign method stimulates the core stability muscles to fire in perfect timing while performing challenging exercises, deep stretches, and core-controlled aerobic training. This method is used for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, performance enhancement, and as a regular sport for a healthy lifestyle.

    CoreAlign is a platform with two independent movable carts. These carts challenge body alignment, improve posture, and increase balance and functional movement while in an upright (and unstable) body position. A “cousin” of traditional Pilates Reformer equipment, CoreAlign is part mind-body, part strength, part cardio, and totally unique!

  • Mixed Level Reformer

    Increase overall strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance while addressing virtually every part of the body.

    Known for its versatility, the Reformer allows you to perform exercises in a variety of positions. These exercises promote length, strength, flexibility, and balance, leading to daily life improvements such as better posture, graceful and efficient movement, and for many, relief from the pain associated with physical imbalances.

    Mixed-level group classes are appropriate for those without injuries and with prior Pilates experience. As with all of our mixed-level classes, appropriate variations and modifications will be taught for each level.
